Anyango Reggy, a Howard University Ph.D. student, has recently completed six months of field research in Rwanda.  During her stay Ms. Reggy has explored the complex, frequently contradictory roles that women play in Rwanda's post-genocide society.

While in Rwanda Ms. Reggy frequently blogged, sharing her evolving thoughts and analysis:

Rwanda is an extremely complex society! At first glance it appears as though the country has moved past what is described as the most intense conflict of the twentieth century. In about 100 days, approximately one million people were brutally murdered….that’s 1 out of every 15 Rwandese!!!.....It doesn’t take long, however, to discover that the work of healing and reconciliation is far from over. “…..The pain is deep….The emotions are raw….The memories are fresh…..

Please join us for more on this complex story.

Refreshments will be provided.
