    Please join Professors Gerónimo Sanchez Garcia and Alejandro Correa Ortega from the Instituto de Barlovento (IUB) of Venezuela. The IUB was founded in 1991 in Higuerote, Central Venezuela and currently serves as one of the only historically Black institutions of higher education in Latin America. Professors Sanchez and Correa will speak about the history of Afro-descendants in Venezuela and current priorities related to access to education and civic engagement.
